Everything you need to know before, during and after your PET/CT appointment at our center.
1. Booking your appointment
Choose a free time slot online. Pay at the center.
2. Before you arrive
Follow the preparation instructions below and arrive about 15 minutes early with your ID and previous reports.
3. During the visit
After a small injection you rest quietly for around an hour, then the scan itself takes 20 - 30 minutes and is painless.
4. Getting your results
We contact you as soon as your report is ready and send a link.
Before your appointment
Please read these instructions carefully before coming to the center.
Fasting before the scan
- Do not eat for 6 hours before your appointment time.
- Water is allowed and encouraged - drink normally unless told otherwise.
- Avoid sugary drinks, juice, coffee with sugar and chewing gum.
Medication
- Continue your regular medication unless the doctor tells you to stop it.
- If you take diabetes medication or insulin, please call us before the appointment.
What happens during the scan
- A small injection is given, then you rest quietly for about 60 minutes.
- The scan itself usually takes 20 - 30 minutes and is painless.
- Plan for around 2 - 3 hours at the center in total.
What to bring
- Your ID, previous scans and reports, and any referral letter.
- Wear comfortable clothes without metal buttons or zips.
- Payment is made at the center.
Follow-up scans
- Some treatment plans need repeat scans every few months to follow progress.
- Your doctor will tell you if and when another appointment is needed.
